Today, we are proud to introduce the final #TBT Video of the Week post! The Barcoding, Inc. 8th Annual Executive Forum was a great way to celebrate all of the developments in our supply chain world and learn more about what the future holds. From IoT, to MRO, to RFID, we have covered many of the exciting new technologies that are shaping and changing the industry as we know it.
We’ve had a great time looking back at EF8 sessions for the past 12 weeks and we hope you’ve enjoyed keeping up with us!
This Week’s Video and Speaker
“Track II: Streamlining Supply Chain Efficiency and Accuracy with RAIN RFID” features speaker Gilbert Espinosa of IMPINJ, an RFID company. In the video, Espinosa hosts an informative discussion about the impact of RFID on the supply chain and how implementing these solutions can reduce errors and lower costs.
Why RFID?
RFID technology is a great tool to improve supply chain efficiency by replacing legacy systems to capture data automatically, helping track inventory, and monitoring shipments. It gives accurate, individual, and serialized information to track assets and products. By identifying containers or pallets with an RFID tag and then tying the tag to shipping information, both the business and the receiving customer can track a package, ensuring the best possible management of your business’ valuable assets.
IMPINJ and Barcoding
RFID is the sole focus of IMPINJ. They were one of the founding companies of the RAIN organization, which established an industry-wide standard for RFID adoption. IMPINJ specializes in the manufacturing and development of chips (that are about the size of a grain of salt), gateway readers, and software, all centered around streamlining technology and deployment. In the past, IMPINJ has collaborated with Barcoding to combine our RealView software with IMPINJ data collectors to deliver accurate data to our customers. You can read more about our partnership here.
IMPINJ shipment verification utilizes fixed readers to tag a shipment. It helps businesses save money because it does not require electricity at each point– “power over ethernet”– and its customizability allows for a quick and easy set-up. This solution shows capability to deploy 5x as many products in an 8 hour day than a traditional platform!
