The Daily Record recently named our CEO, Jay Steinmetz, as one of 2019’s Most Admired CEOs. The Daily Record created their Most Admired CEOs award to recognize talented, visionary leaders throughout Maryland. Winners were selected by a panel of judges, based on professional accomplishments, community leadership, and mentoring.

Although there were an overwhelming number of nominations this year, Steinmetz stood out not only because of his success with Barcoding, Inc., but also because of his involvement in local government and the community. “This year’s Most Admired CEOs demonstrate that leadership matters to our economy and to the quality of our day-to-day lives,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record.

Barcoding, Inc. was founded in 1998 in Jay Steinmetz’s Baltimore apartment. Today, Barcoding provides end-to-end solutions for over 2,500 organizations throughout the US and Canada. We have a strong belief in our people, process, and technology and are honored our CEO made this prestigious list.

“My experience in building a business has given me a window into understanding people, economics, and their effect on our community as a whole. As a citizen of my community I feel it is my responsibility to give back in knowledge gained, treasure, and time,” said Steinmetz.

All of 2019’s Most Admired CEOs will be honored at an awards celebration on Tuesday, November 5. Learn more about the event here and see the full list of 2019’s Most Admired CEOs.
