Year of the Pup | Welcome SSD Belle!

As part of our ongoing partnership with Susquehanna Service Dogs, we’d like to extend a welcoming paw to SSD Belle, named by the Barcoding team during the chili-cookoff with our partner Honeywell.

Born on November 6, 2022, SSD Belle is a young upstart who’s ready to change lives and win hearts. Right now, she’s learning to give her raiser attention and the cue “sit.” She’s also getting comfortable riding in a car and being calm around things like the vacuum, hats, snow boots, and umbrellas—all things that will likely be part of her routine with her potential partner in the future.

While training starts the moment a dog is born, Belle is currently enjoying walks around the campus with her raiser, a student at Penn State University. This allows her to interact with many different people and familiarize herself with various environmental situations. Additionally, she will spend the next 15-18 months learning good house manners, self-control, and over 20 different foundational cues from them.
