Today, we are excited to share another Video of the Week post and recap a session from our #SupplyChainGeekDay Summit.
Today’s Video
Today’s video features our partner, Honeywell, a leader in energy, safety, security, productivity and global urbanization. Our VP of Sales, Matt Cunningham, was joined by Michael Noyes, VP & General Manager for Mobility, Scan, Print, Media and Services at Honeywell, to discuss the initiatives Honeywell has created that can help keep your employees safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Adapting To Our New Normal
In a study conducted by Honeywell, businesses reported limited processes and systems in place for proper worker hygiene and safety. In fact, less than 10% of organizations have a robust cleaning protocol for IT equipment. Additionally, less than 11% of organizations have robust PPE supply chains, compliance management and/or the ability to detect elevated body temperature.
Safety Solutions
Keeping employees safe is of paramount importance. However, in an environment such as a warehouse where 84 operators may handle the same device in a 2-week period, there is a special set of considerations.
For example, asset check-out/check-in can monitor whether devices have been properly returned for cleaning and can prompt the user if it has not yet been. Another solution is social distancing proximity alerts. If two devices or more have come within a specified geofence, the user will get a notification and then be able to take appropriate actions to minimize risk.
As a centralized cloud-based platform, Operational Intelligence provides a new perspective on IT challenges. It tracks the complete lifecycle of assets and bridges the gap frequently overlooked by Asset Management or MDM solutions, allowing for a better understanding of where and how your devices are being used. People counting technology can be deployed to track the number of people entering and exiting a store to ensure a safe capacity.
