Our Approach

A Barcoding solution is never just a piece of hardware: This is the heart of Barcoding’s Process, People, Technology (PPT) philosophy.

First, we work to understand our clients’ businesses—their workflows, people, cultures, and goals—and then we discuss the types of technology available to fit their needs.

Our Partner Network

Barcoding, Inc. is a premier partner with the best manufacturers and software providers in the automated data capture, mobility, and supply chain spaces. Because of our strong relationships, our clients have access to high-level resources at our partners’ organizations—from the executive teams to sales, engineers, and support.

Let’s Celebrate the Barcode | A Special Video Collab with Datalogic

It’s here and we can officially go put on our party hats! Today, we’re celebrating National Barcode Day, and what better way to start the festivities than inviting one of our partners, Datalogic, to take us on a walk down memory lane?

ModelA-Scott Perry, SR VP of Sales for NA of Datalogic joins us to talk about the importance of the barcode, the first scan made by a Datalogic scanner, and why he considers himself a #SupplyChainGeek.

The Past Makes Us Who We Are

Back on June 26, 1974, the first UPC (on a pack of Wrigley’s Juicy Fruit gum) was scanned at a grocery store in Troy, OH. This was a momentous achievement for the grocery industry who had been begging for help.

Now, we know this barcode scan literally changed the world—and for us, was the start of our AIDC industry that has transformed the supply chains of every industry and continues to do so today. Think about how often a barcode gets used in your everyday life—grocery store check-outs, deliveries, flights, etc. It’s truly the most amazing, and yet still inconspicuous, innovation!

Datalogic is Moving Forward

While the Barcode has been life-changing, Scott lets Datalogic customers and fans know that they have much in the works since that first scan in Troy, Ohio. In fact, mentions of AI were made and spoiler, no you don’t have to wait years for a peek at this technology. This year, we will have more information on new launches and technologies that can help eliminate many of the common pain points we see in the industry. Make sure you follow Barcoding and Datalogic on social to keep tabs!

And Who is a #SupplyChainGeek?

Scott lets us know why he considers himself a #SupplyChainGeek and why he is so passionate about the barcode. It’s no surprise that many of our subject matter experts also proudly don the title, but Scott mentioned that being a #SupplyChainGeek means being a part of something life-changing…just like the barcode itself has made a lasting mark for itself.

We get to play a role in delivering all that information to our customers, to the consumers...it's exciting to be a part of that.
—Scott Perry, SR VP of Sales, NA, Datalogic

And speaking of valued #SupplyChainGeeks, we want to thank Datalogic and ScanSource for sponsoring National Barcode Day.
