Not all rockstars wield guitars and mics, but this one can juggle scanners and tell you everything you need to know to label your business into efficiency, accuracy, and connectivity. We’re proud to announce Dan Blank, Director, Label & Printing Solutions, was named Rock Star of the Supply Chain by Food Logistics. This award recognizes influential individuals in the industry whose achievements, hard work, and vision have shaped the global cold food supply chain.

In spite of all the supply chain challenges, Dan has led his team to record-breaking sales and in the process, has helped hundreds of organizations get the mission-critical labels and tags they need to run their business. Dan has prepared customers for long lead times and in the background has built the relationships and partner network to drive those times down for customers as best as he can.

“Dan believes that a barcode or RFID label is not just a label— it IS the business. Without proper identification and standardization, a company is at a massive risk for operational disruption,” says Jody Costa, VP of Marketing, Barcoding, Inc. “Dan thinks strategically, communicates with honesty and transparency, works tirelessly to solve problems, approaches all relationships with positivity and openmindedness, and believes in continuous improvement.”

“A wise mentor taught me to just do my best every day and good things will follow. I love that my efforts are helping the world around me function more efficiently and I’m humbled by the recognition. I still look to my own leaders for inspiration and I’m truly enjoying being that inspiration for others now.”

“Behind every great company is an even greater leader. And, the supply chain leaders receiving this award are no exception,” says Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Food Logistics and Supply & Demand Chain Executive. “Within the last 18 months or so, the cold food chain has seen a lot of rock stars rise to the occasion. These rock stars developed platforms, integrated automation, and led teams through disruption after disruption. They’ve helped their companies pivot and adapt, and continue to do so with grace, agility, flexibility, and resilience. These rock stars are strong in so many ways. Congratulations to the true rock stars of the supply chain, who continue to keep the cold food chain moving.”

Dan is also one of our SMEs (subject matter experts) and can be found often in our blog section. Here are some featured articles: How To Choose The Right Thermal Printer Ribbon, Ask the Experts: Effective Labeling Practices, and Warehouse Labeling 101.

Dan Blank will be profiled in Food Logistics’ Jan/Feb 2022 print issue as well as online at www.FoodLogistics.com. Be sure to check out the other winners and rockstars at Food Logistics and see how other #supplychaingeeks are changing the world.
