Barcoding, Inc., the leader in supply chain efficiency, accuracy, and connectivity, today announced that it will host a best practices seminar on returnable container visibility on March 20th, 10:30 am CST, as part of the 2023 Promat Show.

Subject matter experts JW Franz, IoT Director and Dan Blank, Director of Label and Printing Solutions for Barcoding, Inc. will be spearheading the presentation. While the seminar will be recorded, both experts will be taking questions live on March 20th during the show.

Returnable containers are a smart and sustainable way to move assets and products but can require extensive time and money if the proper standards and technologies aren’t applied. As supply chain experts, Barcoding understands that keeping track of returnable containers and properly managing their pooling can be the difference between profit and loss.

With today’s demand for increased supply chain track and trace capabilities, it is critical to have enhanced visibility to those returnable containers transporting goods such as apparel, food items, automotive parts, pharmaceuticals and more. By using RAIN RFID and GS1 standards, unique container level visibility throughout the supply chain is now possible.”
JW Franz, IoT & Automation Solutions Director, Barcoding

Dan and JW will showcase the use of RAIN RFID along with GS1 standards for data serialization and standards-based data to maximize investments in returnable containers regardless of industries. This will be a comprehensive approach to tracking and managing returnable containers, cartons, and pallets. All attendees will learn standardizing and serializing with the speakers emphasizing their strategic partnership with GS1.

Some key takeaways from the presentation:

  • Why GS1 identification standards enable more efficient and accurate tracking of returnable containers by identifying, capturing, and sharing information
  • The value of serialization for increased container level visibility
  • How GS1 EPCIS 2.0 enables interoperability through standards-based data sharing
  • How RFID solutions can be leveraged for real-time visibility, compliance, and accuracy

In addition to the seminar, Barcoding will be in booths S3362, S647, and N9229 to showcase their enterprise platform IntelliTrack® and Freddie, a small AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) robot.
