Panasonic’s New Toughbook T1 is Slim, Sleek, and Secure

What’s in a name? For Panasonic’s latest devices, the name says it all – their new Toughbook is a resilient tool for connected workplaces, ready to face a challenge in any of today’s dynamic, diverse industries.

As an industry leader in mobile computing solutions, this new device gives Panasonic an edge in the supply chain industry. They focus on creating devices for the workplace, and have accommodated to the specialized needs of those who are constantly on the go, yet, they have not compromised on its aesthetic. A sleek, slim design, combined with its rugged reliability, allows for the Panasonic T1 to be the ideal device for today’s diverse workplace.

The T1 sports a 5-inch screen, similar to that of a smartphone. Don’t be deceived, though— – this device has capabilities much more expansive than that of a phone; it was built for the day-to-day fast-paced and rigorous work environment. Users can expect a similar interface to their own personal devices, but can be assured that the T1 will provide the experience they need for a day on the job.

The device’s high-volume barcode scanning capabilities allow for high mobility and reliability; retail workers, warehouse employees or transportation and logistics professionals can quickly use this feature to get the job done, yet be assured the T1 will perform above and beyond their expectations. The barcode scanning capabilities are equipped with an integrated barcode reader and high-speed connectivity to ensure use is smooth and seamless.

With the T1, Panasonic is ahead of the curve and introducing technology that is cutting-edge and adaptable to the growing industry and its various landscapes. Brian Rowley, Panasonic’s Vice President of Marketing and Product Management, states that with the T1, they are “responding to where work is now, and anticipating where it’s going.” The company is cognizant of users’ needs for today, and tomorrow, and has adapted the T1 to those needs.

It has a multi-touch capability, allowing users to wear gloves during colder months and still be able to access the device. Or, they may use a passive stylus. In addition, the device can withstand up to a 5 ft. drop and absorb the shock. It is also designed to be dust and water resistant— – it can be submerged in 5 ft. of water for up to 30 minutes.

Panasonic knows that nothing is ever stagnant: there are often unexpected changes in life and in the workforce. They are focused on ensuring mobile connectivity with features such as high-volume barcode scanning and long-lasting batteries. For continuous use data, the battery can last between 8-16 hours. For wireless capabilities, the device is compatible with both AT&T and Verizon.

Panasonic designed the T1 to MIL-STD-810G standards, and it is also IP66/68 rated. To make sure users to not lose any time while working, the device also has the capability to run off of user-replaceable batteries if needed. Being able to “warm swap” and power up the device with new batteries makes for an efficient, user-friendly experience.
