MovieBarcodes is as site that depicts films reduced down to their pure color, featuring every frame of a film vertically stretched and put together into a barcode-like work of art. The above movie “barcode” is from the Disney movie Bambi.

While there is no actual data encoded in these “barcodes,” so they can’t be scanned, it is interesting how the colors used in a film, when translated into a movie barcode, portray the mood of the film.

Check out MovieBarcodes, where you can even order prints! Too bad the “barcodes” don’t scan. Imagine scanning the movie barcode with your phone and having it play the movie, now that would truly be amazing! Let us know what your favorite movie barcode is by commenting here, or on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
