Written by Barcoding, Inc. | May 16, 2019

Navigating Migration
As with any development in technology, it can take a few years for businesses to adapt to changes and learn how to use the functionalities and capabilities to their full potential. One of our biggest focuses has been navigating the migration to Android and the Cloud. We invited three experts to a roundtable discussion to discuss their experiences in technology adoption.

The roundtable features Martin Jack, Chief Technology Officer at Barcoding Inc., Craig Miller, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Honeywell, and Chris Rossi with SC&H group Principal Technology Advisory Services. In the video, they discuss trends in adoption of the Android and the Cloud, how customer expectations are changing, transition strategies and more.

New Possibilities with the Cloud and Android
The Cloud is a powerful tool that has been around for well over a decade, but in the last 3 years the technology has accelerated rapidly and opened up new possibilities for businesses. Imaginative solutions that were once seemingly impossible, like taking inventory visually with Android-powered glasses, are becoming a reality.

Companies across each of the speaker’s industries are adopting cloud solutions, somewhere along the “continuum” of adoption, as Rossi describes it. Jack explains how at Barcoding, we use the Cloud to track assets, using techniques like object recognition. Android features are also increasing employee satisfaction by making everyday operations, like training, run smoothly. Many types of data can be stored and analyzed in the Cloud, allowing for a better customer experience. Miller describes Honeywell’s “Mobility Edge” platform, a focus on bringing more tools to a platform of different products that enables the ability to capture more types of data and better understanding of customer operations.
