Flying High with the Panasonic Toughpad

BA CityFlyer, a subsidiary of British Airways, is the largest operator at London City Airport with a fleet of 14 aircraft carriers that transport 1.2 million passengers a year.

On each of their airplanes, engineers and flight crews use Panasonic Toughpad FZ-G1 tablets as an Electronic Technical Log to gather flight and maintenance information and provide real-time information to the British Airways’ maintenance system. Using a tablet computer eliminates the need for any manual data input, which enables information to be available as quickly as possible.

“With the real-time information that’s available to our flights crew and engineers, it’s certainly gone a long way toward improving our on-time performance for our fleet,” said David Cooper, line maintenance manager for BA CityFlyer.
