Connect to LinkedIn with PingTags
I recently came across a QR code site called PingTags, a service that allows business cards and resumes to be connected to LinkedIn profiles via QR codes. Users can sign up using their LinkedIn account information and instantly create a QR code to be scanned and tracked.
Once scanned, the QR code will direct to a personal page, displaying LinkedIn and contact information for potential employers to use. When logged into PingTags, users can see how many people scanned their QR code, what links they clicked and a map showing exactly where the barcode was scanned.
I see PingTags as a great resource for those seeking a new job. By placing a QR code created by PingTags on a resume, job seekers will be able to gain visibility into what information potential employers are most interested in, and who is interested in them. By seeing the location of where the QR Code was scanned via Google Maps, users will know which companies are interested and who to follow up with.
I can definitely see PingTags as being a great resource for both job seekers and employers alike. Do you think you would use PingTags to either find a new job, or hire someone? Let us know if you think they’d be useful by commenting here, or on our Facebook or Twitter pages.
