The Intermec 6400 is a powerful MS-DOS based handheld PC. Lightweight and ergonomically designed the 6400 provides worker comfort for extended uninterrupted use. Add superior processing power and rugged durability and the 6400 is the solution for greatly enhancing the productivity of your workforce. The Intermec 6400 handheld computer features a fast AMD Am386 SC300 processor with a clock speed of 33 MHz. The radio frequency (RF) version provides real-time data capability and is fully client-server ready to integrate in your existing systems. The 6400 can run "plug-and-play" Intermec terminal emulations including VT220 3270 SNA 5250 SNA and Intermec Native Mode. It integrates with networks operating SNA Async and TCP-IP. MS-DOS 5.0 is offered as a factory loaded option. The 160x128 pixel screen on the 6400 lets you make the most of applications requiring the display of large amounts of sales or logistics information. A CGA (Color Graphics Adapter) graphics controller allows users to adjust the display to their application or visibility needs from 5 lines-10 characters to 16 lines-32 characters. The 6400 features a patented intelligent battery subsystem with LiIon battery cells the latest in mobile battery technology offering more capacity for the weight. The LiIon battery pack incorporates a--processor-based logic circuit that performs battery management and charging control. This gives you total battery control and no more guessing when batteries need a charge. Additional equipment includes local area communications capable of connecting to wireless networks running on an Ethernet backbone. For additional flexibility scanning options include integrated standard long-range and high visibility laser--scanners and tethered laser scanners. Mounting solutions include vehicle forklift single and multi-dock options.
