CaptureSoft Service Call enables field service techs to go paperless

Baltimore, MD, March 26, 2008 – Barcoding Inc. has joined in world-wide efforts of reducing waste by launching a product that will allow companies to reduce the amount of paper they consume each year. CaptureSoft Service Call is an application for field technicians, which eliminates redundancy in data entry, provides greater accuracy in invoicing, and reduces overhead due to automation of the entire dispatch and work order process, all without a single piece of paper.

Service Call was specifically designed to integrate with QuickBooks and other accounting software applications, and allows technicians to create and modify invoices and estimates in the field, as well as capture customers’ signatures, and record time spent on jobs. It is comprised of three separate elements: Service Call for Windows Mobile® devices as well as Scheduler and Gatekeeper for the office computers.

By implementing Service Call, companies can reduce overhead and consistently receive payment for services rendered in 30 days or less, by cutting down the time it takes to invoice customers. Invoices are created on handheld computers and synchronized back to the office where they can be electronically sent to the customer. Technicians find the transition from paper to handheld device easy due to the user-friendly aspect of Service Call.

Users can also add voice to the application to enable technicians to enter in part numbers and quantities on their handheld device while in the field.

CaptureSoft Service Call has Three Separate Elements:

Service Call for Windows Mobile Devices
With Service Call, technicians use handheld devices to view their appointments. They create invoices, capture the customer’s signature, track job time, enter notes, and even collect payment information at the customer’s site. In addition, they can view a customer’s history and detailed customer information, add a new customer, or schedule a new appointment. Opportunity for error is greatly reduced as double and triple entry of information is eliminated; productivity is significantly increased, all without ever touching a piece of paper.

Scheduler
With Scheduler, appointments and estimates are created on the office computer and then synchronized to each of the handheld devices. Work orders can be attached to the appointment that identifies the items needed to complete the job. After synchronization, these items appear on the customer’s invoice on the handheld. This feature provides an inventory control process, and a method to decrease lost revenue due to non-invoiced parts.

Gatekeeper
Gatekeeper enables management to review and approve customer changes, invoice, and estimates. This tool ensures a much higher level of accuracy and provides a means to modify information prior to synchronization with the accounting system. Naturally, integration virtually eliminates the data entry process and enables companies to manage administrative tasks more efficiently than ever before, while being environmentally conscious at the same time.
