Mobile Environmental Data Collection Platform

Barcoding, Inc.’s MEDCP (Mobile Environmental Data Collection Platform) allows for real-time, paperless, data collection and wireless communication of survey equipment that provide data readings during environmental incidents. This solution is targeted at organizations seeking to collect environmental readings and data pertinent to bio-terrorism incidents as well as NEMA and NTSB situations.

The MEDCP consists of several technologies that brings survey equipment capabilities to the incident site on a handheld device. These technologies include on-board global positioning (GPS), wide area network (WAN) communications, generic interface to all specialized metering equipment and barcode scanning. Data readings from environmental monitoring equipment (biological, chemical and radiological detectors) are electronically captured by the MEDCP, correlated with absolute GPS locations, and submitted to the agency central server for real-time analysis. This allows headquarters analysts to create ‘hot-zone’ maps and make critical decisions for public safety in real-time mode.

Step 1:

Environmental survey equipment readings are collected via Bluetooth and prepared for sending

Step 2:

Data is sent to the AccessPointTM Server via GPRS or WiFi

Step 3:

Data is stored in the AccessPointTM SQL database and integrated into a 3rd party system using XML data feeds
