CaptureSoft Service Call - Release Notes

In October 2006, Service Call Version 4.0.1 was released . This release contains some new features, but more importantly, it integrates with the new Windows Mobile Operating System introduced by Microsoft® earlier this year, as described below:

POCKET PC

Service Call has been integrated with the new Windows Mobile 5.0® Operating System. This new technology enhances the functionality of Service Call, resulting in increased productivity in the field.

Devices equipped with Windows Mobile 5.0® offer many new features that improve performance, such as the introduction of two "soft" buttons found below the screen. These buttons allow for single-handed control of the device without using the touch screen, thereby ensuring improved navigation and less dependency on the stylus. Another screen feature is the ability to transition from "portrait" to "landscape".

One of the most talked about features is "Persistent Memory Storage". Previously, a drained battery or a hard reset would result in the loss of the Service Call application. With Windows Mobile 5.0®, that fear is virtually eliminated. In addition, Service Call customers will notice that speed is vastly improved.

SCHEDULER
When creating appointments in Scheduler, you will now find that the Daily View displays individual columns for each Technician who has a scheduled appointment for that day. This new feature enables you to more easily determine a Technician's availability and eliminates the burden of viewing "overlapping" appointments for several Technicians.
GATEKEEPER

Customers who have elected to use Service Call Anywhere, the synchronization option which enables them to sync multiple handhelds at the same time from anywhere, now have the ability to assign User ID's and Passwords to each Technician.
