QR Coded Stamps in Spain

Although the Spanish Postal Service has allowed businesses to design their own postage stamps for marketing purposes since 2007, no one had experimented with QR codes… until now. Granada-based mobile marketing company, Macanudos, recently introduced the world’s first QR coded postage stamp. This particular stamp links to a video on the history of Grenada’s 14th century Alhambra palace.

While this stamp may be the first QR coded stamp, it certainly won’t be the last. Imagine the possibilities once more companies and countries begin using QR coded stamps. Imagine being able to scan the QR code on the stamp and gaining access to additional information that’s relevant to the contents inside the mail.
