Lexus Uses RFID to Improve Customer Service
Lexus recently partnered with MyDealerLot to allow RFID-enabled customer-service solutions. Lexus will be able to automatically identify every car that arrives for service or washing, in addition to loaner vehicles being returned.
MyDealerLot’s Customer Recognition and Messaging System uses EPC Gen 2 RFID tags in conjunction with plasma screens in order to display information about arriving customers. In addition to managing customers, the RFID system is also able to rack inventory both on- and off-site.
The RFID system is beneficial to both customers and workers, as it provides a personalized and memorable service experience, while facilitating workers with their daily duties.
While Lexus has always strived to provide premium service to its customers, I could definitely see this technology being used at other manufacturers’ dealership locations.
