Baggage Scanning, Tracking, & Tracing Software

Barcoding has teamed with Aviation Software Inc. (ASI) to provide a baggage scanning, tracking & tracing software. This application provides an efficient means of tracking each passenger’s bag from check-in through final destination, giving the user all of the tools necessary to identify where each bag is physically located at all times. It is also fully integrated with industry standard BSM, BTM, BPM, BUM, and FCO IATA messages.

Tracking begins at the ticket counter, and continues through TSA screening, loading, unloading, connections, and final delivery. It allows the user to identify specific containers and their bags, reduce PAWOBs and misconnects, identify short connection bags (hot bags), and generate or respond to 'OK to board' loading authority.

Data is transmitted back and forth between the handheld computers and the web-based host system through an encrypted wireless connection allowing real-time data analysis. This will assist station management in making real-time 'flight hold' decisions based on inbound flight connections.

The System receives information from two sources:

scanned data representing the various bag statuses (accepted, loaded, transferred, & delivered) and
passenger specific data (name, ticket, number, seat number, current itinerary, & bag tag numbers)
